Exercise Classes

Congratulations on choosing your health and becoming a better you! Here at the YMCA we have a variety of fitness options for every fitness level, and we offer personal training and a 12-week body transformation program for those wanting a little extra help to get that jump start. To set up an appointment or if you have any questions, stop by the Welcome Center and set up an appointment.  A healthier, fitter you starts here!

The YMCA offers several classes as a benefit with your YMCA membership.  Not a member?  Print a guest pass and come try a class for free.

Land Exercise Classes (Included with your membership) 

Zumba - This low impact class uses cardio work to produce an easy-to-learn and effective workout to strengthen and tone muscle groups.  And in combination with Zumba added in you never fill like you are working just dancing and having fun. 

HIIT- High intensity interval training is a type of training in which you alternate short, very high intensity intervals with longer, slower intervals to recover.  Benefits from HIIT are it improves performance, it helps you burn more fat, helps you burn more calories all day long, your workouts are shorter. 

Body Sculpting- is a non-aerobic, muscle-toning class, usually focused on core strength.  It is a class where you perform traditional weight-training moves in a class setting.

Step Aerobics is an energizing workout using a height-adjustable step and simple movements on, over, and around the step.  

Yoga- Yoga encourages movement and the flow of blood and oxygen through the body.  Balance and awareness are necessary in order to maintain an active lifestyle.  

The Burn is a circuit style workout that is focused on strength instead of cardio like HIIT class.  

Body/flex is a non-aerobic, muscle-toning, and usually focused on core strength.  It is a class where you perform traditional weight-training moves in a class setting.  

Specialized Classes (require an additional fee to attend).

Y-25- Y25 is designed to jump start your fitness goals by offering cardio, circuit, core, and stability training all in a 25 minutes session!

Spinning- We offer classes and instructors at different times throughout your day; these classes not only work your lower body, they are a great aerobic activity.  These classes are only open to the first ten people so get signed up today and get spinning! See our aerobics schedule for exact class times. 

Boot CampNew sessions begin monthly!  Get ready for an intense, full-body workout.  This class is meant to prove results so come focused and ready for a challenge. We offer different times and days to best fit your schedule! With a different workout every day, you will keep your body guessing, which means you will see results much faster!

Tabata- Tabata consists of bouts of high-intensity exercise for 20 seconds followed by 10 seconds of rest for 8 rounds for a total of 4 minutes. ONE TABATA EXERCISE can help you burn more fat than a traditional 60 minute cardio session! Classes last only 30 minutes so you can squeeze them in to your busy schedule! 

Body Transformation- 12 week program will give you that extra push and challenge you mentally and physically.  A high intensity, boot camp styple class that will get you the results you want! 

Enhance Fitness- A community-based senior fitness and arthritis management program.  Its purpose is to help older adults become more active, energized and empowered for independent living.  The exercises focus on cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, and balance which can help reduce arthritis symptoms.  The class is held in a relaxed atmosphere that encourages social interaction, which is proven to be a vital part of senior health and wellbeing.  EnhanceFitness welcomes older adults at all fitness levels and is especially beneficial for alder adults living with arthritis.

Martial Arts-This class is designed to teach students proper technique, timing, and footwork.  Includes all of the disciplines of kickboxing, submission grappling, and self-defense. 

Martial Arts Leadership- Requires approval from class instructor. Please obtain description from Healthy Living Director Steven Lynch for details.

Wing Chun Kung Fu- Lead by Sifu Beau Hopkins, Wing Chun Kung Fu focuses on learning self defense, improving mental and physical health, improving hand-eye coordination, decreasing stress and building self confidence. Hopkins has over 25 years of experience and has trained with various masters of Wing Chun including the world grand master, William Cheung. This class is open to ages 8 and older.
