The Garden City Family YMCA continues to grow and expand, meaning two new potential full-time positions just opened up. We are currently looking for a Sports Director, as well as our Aquatics & Healthy Living Director. The requirements for each position are listed below.

• Sports Director: Candidate will be responsible for department budget, management of all youth and adult sports programs, official training and recruitment, membership, and a passion for quality member service. General knowledge of sports is preferred. Strong customer service skills and a self-motivated team player is a must. A Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Sports Administration, Education, Physical Education, or a related field is helpful. Experience preferred, but willing to train the right person.

• Aquatics & Healthy Living Director: Seek dynamic professional to lead overall program development for Aquatics & Fitness department. Responsible for department budgets, management of the fitness centers, pools, coordinating all the aquatic & fitness programs with an emphasis on welcoming new members with training and assessments. A passion for quality member service is a must. General knowledge of pool and equipment maintenance is preferred. Strong customer service skills and a self-motivated team player are vital to position. A Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Health, Wellness, Physical Education or a related field is helpful. Experience preferred, but willing to train the right person.
