Here at the YMCA we have a variety of fitness options for every fitness level, from the first timers wanting to make a healthy lifestyle change to the gym enthusiast wanting a challenge. With the various health and fitness classes, as well as our Fitness Center, we hope that you find the best fitness program here to help make that transition to a healthier you, easier! We offer personal training and a12-week fitness program for those wanting a little extra help to get that jump start. The YMCA offers these classes as a benefit with your YMCA membership. Not a member? Print a guest pass and come try a class for free. Monthly Fee for classes is $30.
Land Exercise Class Descriptions
Zumba Step- This low impact class uses cardio work to produce an easy-to-learn and effective workout to strengthen and tone muscle groups. And in combination with Zumba added in you never fill like you are working just dancing and having fun.
Toning/Exercise Balls- a strength class using traditional strength exercises plus a Swiss ball to work on the core muscles.
HIIT-High intensity interval training is a type of training in which you alternate short, very high intensity intervals with longer, slower intervals to recover. Benefits from HIIT are it improves performance, it helps you burn more fat, helps you burn more calories all day long, your workouts are shorter.
Body Sculpting- is a non-aerobic, muscle-toning class, usually focused on core strength. It is a class where you perform traditional weight-training moves in a class setting.
The Burn-Is a circuit style workout that is focused on strength instead of cardio similar to a high intensity interval training (HIIT) class.
Jazzercise-Jazzercise is a dance-based group fitness program. Class has features a fusion of dance, resistance training, pilates, yoga, kickboxing, and Latin-Style movements set to popular music.
Enhance Fitness- A community-based senior fitness and arthritis management program. Its purpose is to help older adults become more active, energized and empowered for independent living. The exercises focus on cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, and balance which can help reduce arthritis symptoms. The class is held in a relaxed atmosphere that encourages social interaction, which is proven to be a vital part of senior health and wellbeing. EnhanceFitness welcomes older adults at all fitness levels and is especially beneficial for alder adults living with arthritis.
